Liverpool fans have waxed lyrical about Diogo Jota’s latest masterclass for Portugal in their latest World Cup qualifier.
The Reds forward registered a goal and an assist as the Euro 2016 champions ran out 3-0 winners in Azerbaijan on Tuesday.
Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva and RB Leipzig’s Andre Silva also scored in the routine victory in Baku.

After setting up Silva’s opener on 26 minutes, Jota headed home in the 75th minute for his eighth goal in 21 international outings.
Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t in the squad but the Liverpool star stepped up superbly in his absence, causing no end of trouble for the opposition.
And Liverpool fans were delighted with how Jota performed:
Jota has been superb for Jurgen Klopp’s side since his £41million move from Wolves last September.
The Portuguese was sidelined from early December to late February due to a knee injury, and the Reds missed him badly.
A foot injury late on in the season then meant Jota missed two of the last three games of 2020-21.
Now fit again, Jota has hit the ground running this season, with two goals from Liverpool’s first three games.
And his international break ends with a goal and two assists, having contributed to a goal in the 3-1 friendly win over Qatar.
