A number of Manchester City fans have taken to Twitter to praise Liam Delap’s latest superb performance for the Under-23s.

The 18-year-old academy striker has been in sensational form this season, registering a staggering 20 goals and five assists in 18 appearances – both at age and senior level.

Delap also scored on his senior debut for Pep Guardiola’s side back in September, and is averaging a goal every 72 minutes in all competitions.

On Monday, City’s U23s ran out 5-0 winners over their West Ham counterparts at the City Football Academy.

Although Cole Palmer stole the show with a hat-trick, Delap also impressed, firing home his one-on-one effort for his tenth league goal in five games.

Like the senior team, City’s U23s are clear at the top of the table, Enzo Maresca’s side currently five points ahead of second-placed Blackburn at the Premier League 2 summit.
