A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to rave about Nikolaj Moller’s superb display for the Gunners Under-23s in last night’s Premier League 2 game.

Arsenal U23s had gone into the Blackburn U23s fixture bottom of the 13-team table, having failed to win any of their last seven league games, but climbed to 11th after the 6-0 win.

The young Gunners led 1-0 at half time through Moller, who tapped home on the rebound after Antonis Stergiakis kept out Folarin Balogun’s shot.

Moller then helped make it two after the interval with an assist, setting up Catalin Cirjan for a powerful long-range effort which cannoned in off the underside of the bar.

Emile Smith Rowe then grabbed a quickfire brace, slamming one effort home from six yards out after being picked out by Balogun.

He then beat Stergiakis at the back post from a right-wing cross to put the Gunners four to the good.

Rovers defender Dan Pike made it five due to an own goal following a Smith Rowe delivery, and Moller wrapped up the scoring with virtually the last kick of the game.

As well as his goal contributions, the 18-year-old’s link-up play was superb throughout the game, and he has clearly developed a fine understanding with Folarin Balogun in attack.

Here is what some Arsenal fans were saying on social media about the £450,000 signing’s display and progression:
