'Our future captain': Some Arsenal fans in awe of 5ft 10in ace's masterclass against Liverpool

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal clinched a superb win against the Premier League champions on Wednesday night and Gunners fans were ecstatic on social media, with Kieran Tierney coming for particular praise.

Fresh from winning June’s Arsenal Player of the Month award, the 23-year-old put in yet another superb performance as he helped the Gunners secure a 2-1 win over Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.

Beginning the game on the left of the three-man defence but with licence to get forward, Tierney kept Mohamed Salah at bay for much of the encounter and showed superb game management in the closing stages of the match to seal the win.

Arsenal fans sadly saw little of the Scotland international prior to the suspension of English football due to injuries, but since the restart he’s been one of Arteta’s star players.

Given his age and the fact he’s still only in his maiden season at the Emirates, there is palpable excitement over how far he can go in the red and white.
