Tottenham fans have reacted to the reports claiming young defender Charlie Sayers is on trial at Spurs currently.

The 17-year-old currently plies his trade for Southend and has already made six appearances for the club.

On Saturday morning, Sayers’ name featured on Tottenham’s team sheet for their Under-18 Premier League Cup trip to Fulham, which Spurs lost 4-0.

And according to Echo News, Sayers is indeed on trial at Tottenham, who have reportedly taken an interest in him.

A number of Spurs fans have welcomed Sayers’ trial at their club, with a few also claiming he resembles Ruben Dias:

Southend boss Phil Brown recently tipped Sayers for a bright future in the game.

“I think Charlie Sayers has been outstanding,” he told Echo News.

“You have to say he has a career ahead of him, there’s no doubt about it.
