'Our business is awful': Some Arsenal fans are 'fuming' as club reportedly miss out on PL target
Arsenal have reprotedly missed out on signing Mat Ryan on a permanent deal.
According to Basque-based outlet El Diario Vasco, Real Sociedad have won the race for the 29-year-old shot-stopper. Ryan spent the second half of last season with the Gunners, where he made three appearances in total.
Arsenal look set to completely refresh their goalkeeping department this summer. There is speculation that Bernd Leno might leave. Furthermore, the Daily Star report that Sam Johnstone and Aaron Ramsdale are targets for Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners were defensively solid last season, with Arsenal conceding fewer goals than the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Leicester City. However, it appears that the goalkeeping position is being reconsidered.
Whilst Ryan kept just one clean sheet for Arsenal, the Aussie became a favourite with supporters largely due to his love for the club and the face he is a fan of the Gunners himself.
Indeed, Arsenal fans on social media were mad that the club had missed out on the signing of Ryan. The keeper has one year left on his current deal with Brighton.
Here’s what some Arsenal supporters had to say on Twitter about the club missing out on Ryan…
