Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has heaped praise on Aaron Ramsdale following the Englishman’s spectacular performance against Leicester City over the weekend.
Ramsdale was absolutely sensational. He almost singlehandedly kept Arsenal in the game and helped the Gunners extend their unbeaten run with a number of remarkable saves at the King Power.
A lot was said about the goalkeeper when Arsenal decided to bring him in. Most fans in the world weren’t keen at all, but Mikel Arteta ignored everyone and signed him, and that is proving to be the right decision.
Saka was quizzed about his compatriot and the youngster seemed just as impressed as everyone else.
Bukayo Saka: Aaron Ramsdale keeps surprising everyone
Asked about the stunning save just before half-time, the young Englishman told The Metro: “From my angle, it was 100 per cent a goal and then he saved it. The second action, I thought it was going to be a goal again and he saved us again.
“I don’t know how he saved it, then he saved it again. So hats off to him from me.
“He was our best player and he deserved a clean sheet. He just keeps surprising everyone and he is in great form. I just hope he can continue like that because he is making a big difference.”

TBR View:
Saka’s right. Ramsdale is surprising a lot of people. Many knew he was a good goalkeeper, but nobody would’ve predicted that he’ll have the kind of impact he has had since he made his Arsenal debut.
The Englishman’s sensational form has pushed Bernd Leno to the bench. The German started the season as the undisputed number one, but Ramsdale’s performances may just have ended Leno’s Arsenal career.
It will be interesting to see what Arteta and Edu will do in January. Leno will not be a happy man if he continues to spend most of his time on the bench, but the chances of him displacing Ramsdale look extremely slim at the moment.
