Leeds United fans admit that even they feel sorry for Kalvin Phillips, after he admitted that he had under two weeks off training after Euro 2020.
Gruelling schedule
The Leeds man started in every single on of England’s games at the international tournament, and played extra time in both the semi-final and the final.
But Marcelo Bielsa is seemingly not prepared to give Phillips too much time off.
The Leeds midfielder was speaking in public yesterday, when he admitted that he would be back to training in 11 days.
And Leeds fans say that Phillips’ schedule is starting to look draining.
Fitness tested
Thankfully for Leeds, Phillips’ fitness levels are among the best in their squad.
Despite a busy summer there is no reason to believe that he won’t be lining up in Leeds’ starting line-up on opening day.
Bielsa relies on Phillips heavily, and Leeds always look a weaker team when he is not fit enough to start.
The Whites kick their season off with a game against Manchester United on August 14th at Old Trafford.
