Arsenal are in action against West Ham United today but while the football remains a priority, they’re also looking to the future as well.

The Gunners have a number of top young players emerging from the ranks at the moment in what is an exciting time for the club.

While young first-teamers like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli impress, there are a host of young talents coming out of the Hale End Academy as well.

One of those talents is young winger, Amario Cozier-Duberry, who has already been around the first-team this season.

And according to journalist Ben Jacobs, Arsenal believe they’re close to getting a new deal for Cozier-Duberry over the line.

Arsenal confident on Cozier-Duberry contract

Speaking about the ‘unplayable‘ youngster for GiveMeSport, Jacobs has said that there is an optimism around the club that Cozier-Duberry signs.

“Yeah, negotiations are ongoing and Arsenal are optimistic. There’s absolutely no doubt that they want to renew and these kinds of conversations when the talent is so wide-tracked can be quite difficult, because you can understand why the player may want a little bit more and has some leverage as well. But Arsenal’s intent is to get this over the line. At the moment, there’s no suggestion that talks have collapsed, which means that Arsenal are still in control of the situation,” Jacobs said.

A bright future

Arsenal have some exciting young players coming through the ranks now and Amario Cozier-Duberry is one of the top prospects.

Like Ethan Nwaneri, a lot is already being put on the youngster in terms of expectation and it will be interesting to see if he can really break into the first-team next season.

Cozier-Duberry has been compared to Saka a bit for how he plays and if he can do half as well as the Arsenal star, he won’t go too far wrong anyway.

For Arsenal as a club, it’s important they get these players tied to new deals and soon.
