Opinion: Spurs must give 'immense' 21-year-old 'brick wall' a chance in pre-season
Tottenham Hotspur loanee TJ Eyoma has made quite a name for himself away from Spurs this season.
The 21-year-old, who has come through the ranks at Tottenham, joined League One side Lincoln at the start of the campaign.
Eyoma has been an ever-present for his loan club during a marathon campaign which saw them pass the 50-game mark.
The versatile defender has been deployed both at centre-back and at right-back during the course of the season, clocking up 51 appearances including 41 in the league.
Aside from the 46 regular league games, Lincoln have also played seven EFL Trophy games, three League Cup matches and two FA Cup games.
And by finishing fifth in the table, the Imps extended their season further, earning themselves a playoff tie with fallen giants Sunderland.
Eyoma kept a clean sheet for his side in the first leg, which saw the Black Cats beaten 2-0 at Sincil Bank.
And although the Spurs loanee couldn’t prevent his side from losing in the second leg, he put in an amazing performance to keep the opposition at bay and get his side over the line.
Indeed, Lincoln were only beaten 2-1, earning themselves a 3-2 victory on aggregate and a trip to Wembley for the final, just one game away from promotion to the Championship.

@WeRTottenhamTV @TheirishY @DannyKyriacou @jack_kineke @Bobzy73 @willstewa Eyoma was absolutely class in the second half for Lincoln in their play off semi final win today. Sessegnon grabbed an assist for Hoffenheim. There’s so much young talent at Spurs. Time we started using it

Thought TJ Eyoma was immense for Lincoln at the back today

Given Spurs have had their problems at centre-back and at right-back this season, Eyoma is certainly worth looking at in pre-season in either position.
Admittedly it’s a big jump from League One to Premier League football, but he’s got over 50 senior games under his belt this season, in a tough league, and has done incredibly well.
