'Oozes quality': Leeds fans laud Lewis Bate for assist against Arsenal under-23s

Leeds United fans once again got a glimpse of the future last night and were left suitably impressed with the performance of Lewis Bate at Elland Road.

The Leeds 23s played host to Arsenal at the first-team’s ground last night and it was quite the game. Leeds twice led, but Arsenal fought back to win 4-2 in an entertaining spectacle in West Yorkshire.

For Leeds, there were a number of players on show who Whites fans hold a vested interest in. The likes of Summerville and Greenwood both played well again, but it was the performance of Lewis Bate that caught the eye.

The ex-Chelsea youngster is making big strides it seems in Leeds. And he played an important part last night in the opening goal scored by Max Dean.

Some Leeds fans, then, feel Bate isn’t too far away from a call to the full Leeds squad. Twitter was awash with comments from supporters suggesting as much. Marcelo Bielsa, no doubt, is watching on with interest.

Here’s a look at what some Leeds fans had to say about Lewis Bate last night.
