Gylfi Sigurdsson has been quite the revelation for Swansea since his return after a brief spell away at Tottenham, and this trend continued throughout the Welsh outfit’s 3-2 defeat at the hands of Bournemouth.
Despite defeat for the Swans at the Vitality Stadium, the Iceland international was on hand once again to showcase his talents. Weighing in with the visitor’s second goal, as well as a match best – tied with Bournemouth’s Matt Ritchie – three key passes and an 86.8% pass success rate, he was the key man for his side during a tricky away tie.
This showing means that, in 2016, having now scored seven times (to add to his tally of nine for the entire campaign), only Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero has found the back of the net on more occasions in the Premier League – an impressive feat to say the least. Perhaps more impressively, however, is the fact that these goals have come in only his last ten Premier League starts.
