‘Only option’: Some Arsenal fans think £182k-a-week ace should be dropped against Aston Villa

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to discuss who should start up front for the Gunners on Saturday.

Mikel Arteta’s charges will hope to get back to winning ways when they head to Aston Villa in the day’s early kickoff.

The Arsenal boss has a dilemma of sorts in attack, given Nicolas Pepe has been doing well on the left flank and Bukayo Saka has made the right flank his own.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is available, but putting him on the left means Pepe would be getting dropped just as he’s hitting form.

Some Arsenal fans reckon Alexandre Lacazette should – or will – make way for the Gunners captain at centre-forward, with Pepe and Saka on the flanks.

Lacazette has enjoyed an upturn in form this season, with 10 goals to his name in all competitions, and five goals and two assists from his last eight Premier League appearances.

Indeed, Arteta’s decision to withdraw the £182,000-a-week ace at half time against Wolves, following David Luiz’s red card, proved controversial amongst some fans.
