‘Talks are ongoing right now’: Journalist makes exciting claim about Leeds and Orta

Journalist Pete O’Rourke is confident that Leeds United director Victor Orta has already begun planning for the summer transfer window (GiveMeSport).

The Whites were in dire straits several weeks ago. This led to the Elland Road board making the heavy-hearted decision to sack Marcelo Bielsa.

Leeds brought Jesse Marsch in as Bielsa’s replacement. And after some teething problems early on, he has steered the Whites away from danger.

The Whites have got 10 points from their last four games to go nine points clear of the Premier League’s bottom three.

Admittedly, Everton and Burnley have two games in hand on Leeds, while Watford and Norwich have one each.

Nonetheless, the Whites are on the right track and will fancy their chances of getting over the line.

Leeds didn’t sign a single player in January, which ended up costing them dear as injuries took their toll.

The likes of Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood and Crysencio Summerville have all featured this season in the league.

Meanwhile, Archie Gray was on the bench for the defeat to Arsenal in December despite being just 15 years old at the time.

There’s no doubt that Leeds need to bolster their ranks in summer and O’Rourke thinks Orta and Marsch have already been talking about possible options.

“Everybody is sort of singing from the same tune right now to try and improve this Leeds United side now they’re looking closer and closer to safety in the Premier League,” he wrote on GiveMeSport.

“I’m sure talks are ongoing right now to see where they’re going to bolster the squad in the transfer market this summer with Orta and Jesse Marsch both heavily involved.”

Leeds are next in action on Monday 25 April when they play Crystal Palace away in an 8pm kickoff.
