One winner, one loser as Tottenham's Lucas Moura enjoys terrific season start
Tottenham Hotspurs’ man of the moment Lucas Moura has enjoyed an incredible start to the season for Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs side.
Despite a tough few months settling into life in North London at the end of the last campaign, the Brazilian has undoubtedly found his feet in recent weeks.
The 26-year-old has started every game for the club so far this season, scoring three times in his three appearances.
However, with an abundance of attacking talent to choose from, it remains to be seen how Pochettino will utilise the Brazilian to his best abilities.
Winner – Lucas Moura
Moura has had a hand in eight goals in his seven starts in all competitions since joining Tottenham Hotspur (four goals, four assists) and his terrific start to the 2018/19 Premier League campaign must have put him at the forefront of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans.
Despite a slow start to life in North London, Moura was always considered as a signing for this season, and he has certainly proved his naysayers wrong in Spurs’ opening fixtures.
The 26-year-old former Paris Saint-Germain winger is quickly emerging as an indispensable option for Mauricio Pochettino.
Loser – Son Heung-min
Son Heung-Min’s time away at the Asian Games have done the forward no favours whatsoever and, despite being an essential component of Pochettino’s setup last season, it is hard to see a way back for him into the starting XI if Moura continues playing with this rich vein of form.
The South Korean international will have to do everything in his power when he returns. He needs to play to the best of his abilities when given the game time to do so, to stand any chance of reclaiming a position amongst Tottenham’s attacking ranks.
