One-time Liverpool villain reacts to Barcelona miracle, fans respond

Liverpool produced one of the all-time great comebacks against Barcelona to book their place in the 2018/19 Champions League final.

The Reds beat the Spanish heavyweights 4-0 at Anfield after losing the first leg 3-0, and will now face either Tottenham Hotspur or Ajax in Madrid on June 1.

It was a simply incredible performance from Jurgen Klopp’s side, who were missing Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah.

Andy Robertson went off injured at half-time, but Liverpool’s fringe players stepped up to the mark.

After the game, there were floods of meesages from fans and players both current and former.

Watching on in Turkey, one man who extended his congratulations was last year’s villain, Loris Karius.

In last year’s final, Karius made two howlers to allow Real Madrid to scoop a third consecutive title, and he has spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Besiktas.

He wrote on Twitter: “This is Anfield! So happy for club & fans #YNWA.”

Many Liverpool fans on cloud nine were delighted to read Karius’ show of support, especially given what happened in Kiev.
