Rangers have recently been linked with a move for Portsmouth goalkeeper Craig MacGillivray. As reported by The Scottish Sun, the Scottish stopper is being targeted in a potential £2.5 million move in the new year.
The Portsmouth stopper has been in fine form this season and Rangers are believed to be on the hunt for a new stopper, considering number one Allan McGregor’s advancing years.

Of course, there is a current Rangers player who will know the 26-year-old goalkeeper well in Ross McCrorie. The talented youngster is currently on loan at Fratton Park and from his comments about the player, it seems he would be a good addition at Ibrox.
For example, speaking to the Scottish Sun earlier this year, he hailed the player for making him feel welcome on the south coast and his international call-ups.
“He was actually one of the first to come up to me He told me he was born in Scotland, but I’m still the only one with a Scottish accent!
“It’s brilliant for Craig. I know how much it means. When he got the call-up, he came to me and said: ‘I’ve done it — I’ve been called up!’.
“He was buzzing and I was over the moon for him. He deserves it, though. He’s been great since I’ve been there. He’s a top professional and very down to earth.”
TBR’s View
MacGillivray has been one of the top-performing stoppers in League One this season and will undoubtedly be a good addition to any club that decides to bring him in.
Rangers would, however, have a hard sell, considering he would not be guaranteed as a starter with McGregor and Wes Foderingham currently on the books.
But it certainly sounds like he has the character to be a hit at Ibrox.
