Sky Bet Championship outfit Nottingham Forest have been extremely busy this summer, with boss Aitor Karanka and the club’s hierarchy working tirelessly to secure deals for no fewer than 11 new arrivals.
The Reds were disappointing as they finished in a lowly 17th place during the 2017/18 campaign and the club’s Spanish manager is clearly keen to move Forest forward this season.
The East Midlands-based side have spent big this summer for the first time in years and there is still reason to believe that one, or maybe two, more players could arrive at the City Ground before the transfer window slams shut on Thursday evening.
Along with a couple more arrivals, Forest could still do with offloading some of the players that are still on the books but have been deemed surplus to requirements by Karanka, with plenty to watch out for those of a Forest persuasion on deadline day.
Here, we looked at one potential arrival and one departure that should be completed before the 5pm cut-off.

Arrival – Sam Byram
The transfer of the West Ham United right-back to Nottingham Forest has been one that has taken some sorting out this summer, but it could finally get the rubber stamp ahead of the deadline.
According to The Sun (Live Blog, Wednesday 8th August, 7am), the former Leeds United man is set to sign for Forest on a season-long loan and his arrival at the City Ground would definitely bolster the Reds’ promotion credentials.
At present, Forest’s only senior right-back is Tendayi Darikwa and although he has started the season well it is a position that could absolutely do with some cover.

Departure – Apostolos Vellios
The big Greek striker simply hasn’t cut the mustard during his time at the City Ground and he was reportedly told by Aitor Karanka that he was free to find a new club at the start of the summer.
A move finally looks to have come to fruition in anticipation of deadline day, with the Nottingham Post reporting that Bolton Wanderers are pressing ahead with a £600,000 bid.
The 26-year-old has been a scorer of great goals rather than a great goalscorer during his time on Trentside and a move would be most beneficial if he has any desire to play football during 2018/19.
