'One of the greatest': Some Liverpool fans buzzing as new face spotted at Kirkby
A number of Liverpool fans have expressed their joy at seeing new Reds goalkeeping coach Claudio Taffarel at Kirkby for the first time.
Liverpool confirmed earlier this week that the Brazil legend has joined the Anfield coaching staff.
Taffarel will link up with John Achterberg and Jack Robinson to work with the Liverpool goalkeepers.
The 55-year-old will combine his duties at Anfield with the coaching role he holds with the Selecao.
Taffarel won 101 caps for Brazil and lifted the World Cup in 1994 before reaching the final four years later.
He also had stints in Europe with Parma and Galatasaray, winning two league titles and a UEFA Cup with the latter.
After retiring in 2003, Taffarel re-joined Galatasaray as a goalkeeper coach
He would go on to also have two interim spells in charge of the Turkish club in 2014 and 2015.
On Thursday, Liverpool tweeted an image of Taffarel at Kirkby:
And plenty of fans were delighted:
