Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has been linked with a switch from Spurs to Barcelona in the January transfer window.

And according to Mundo Deportivo, the Spurs playmaker would jump at the opportunity to swap Tottenham for Barca in the coming weeks.

Speculation involving Lo Celso and the Camp Nou has been doing the rounds for a few days now as the player continues to struggle for game time at Spurs.

The Tottenham man has made just four appearances for Tottenham this term, for a mere total of just over 83 minutes of game time.

By contrast, Lo Celso once again continues to get more game time for Argentina. He has 93 minutes under his belt for the reigning world champions in 2023-24.

With Gavi out of action, Xavi is reportedly looking for a replacement, and with Lo Celso now being fit and raring to go, the Spurs man could be a good shout in January.

Mundo Deportivo says Lo Celso “would come to Barca with his eyes closed, on loan, with or without a purchase option”.

In addition, the Spurs man should be able to hit the ground running were such a move to happen, as he has played in La Liga for Villarreal and Real Betis.

Has Giovani Lo Celso had enough at Tottenham Hotspur?

Lo Celso’s time at Tottenham hasn’t been smooth sailing, to put it mildly. He has been overlooked by a number of coaches and continues to struggle for game time even now.

And yet, Lo Celso has impressed in La Liga and for Argentina. Former Villarreal teammate Geronimo Rulli previously deemed the Spurs man ‘one of the best players in the world’.

Admittedly, Postecoglou gave Lo Celso a chance in pre-season, but sadly the hamstring injury he suffered set him back. The Spurs boss rightly didn’t want to just rush him back in.

However, you can’t help but feel that the accumulation of being overlooked time and time again at Tottenham may have convinced Lo Celso to just cut his losses.

Besides, when a club like Barcelona comes calling, it’s hard to refuse.
