Wolves are now on the verge of signing Sporting Lisbon midfielder Matheus Nunes and the midfielder could be ready to play against Tottenham Hotspur this Saturday, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
Reports have suggested that Leeds United and Liverpool hold an interest in signing Nunes this summer but he seems to be heading to Molineux.
The 23-year-old midfielder has enjoyed three brilliant seasons in the Portuguese league and has made a flying start to the current campaign.
The Portugal international has already scored and assisted once in just two games for his side and now he looks set to join his compatriot Bruno Lage at Wolves.

Nunes ready to play Spurs
Football journalist Ben Jacobs reports that Wolves have now agreed a club-record £42.2 million fee with Sporting for Nunes.
The Wanderers plan to register the midfielder before the weekend, which could mean he will be ready to play against Spurs on Saturday.
The two sides have been locked in negotiations for a month but now it seems that Nunes is one step away from playing in the Premier League.
Nunes ‘one of the best’ in the world
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola labelled Nunes as ‘one of the best players in the world today’ after his side’s 5-0 win over Lisbon in the Champions League last season.
And now Nunes could be set to make his debut against Antonio Conte’s Spurs on Saturday.
It will be a big boost for Wolves if they are able to register the dynamic midfielder in time. Lage’s men have got off to a lacklustre start in the Premier League after losing to Leeds then drawing to Fulham.

Whereas Conte’s side have picked up a win against the Saints and a hard-earned draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Wolves beat Spurs 2-0 in the fixture last season but Lage’s men will have to improve massively on their start to the current campaign if they are to pick up a similar result.
And if Nunes is registered in time for the fixture, he could be set to make his debut in North London.
