Michael Owen has suggested that he would sign Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min over any of his teammates.
Owen was speaking on BT Sport after Tottenham’s important 3-2 win over Frankfurt last night.
The South Korean scored twice against Tottenham’s German opponents, including a sweetly struck volley.
Son didn’t have the best start to this season, and wasn’t playing at the level many Tottenham fans are used to.
However, a hat-trick against Leicester last month showed what he was capable of, before his fantastic performance last night.

Son combined with Harry Kane for the 50th time for his first goal, expertly finishing past Kevin Trapp.
It was Son’s second goal that will live long in the memory for many Spurs fans.
A fantastic run and cross from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg found an unmarked Son in the box.
The South Korean couldn’t have connected with his wrong-foot volley any better, cannoning his shot into the back of the net.
When asked about who he would sign from Tottenham’s squad, Owen admitted it would be Son.
Owen would sign Son over Kane
While discussing the match on BT Sport, Owen said: “Two or three weeks ago, everyone was saying he shouldn’t be playing!
“He’s one of the best. We said at the time, if you’re any huge club, you’ll look at Tottenham and think, ‘right, we want one of their players’, I’d take Son ahead of any of them.
“Based on age and quality and everything else, I’d take Son.”
Antonio Conte will be hoping that Son can carry his performance from last night into the Premier League.
Alan Shearer criticised Son for his performance in the North London derby, saying he was ‘really poor’.
However, Ledley King believes Son has the potential to become a Spurs legend alongside Kane.
Son is a year older than Kane and on a longer contract than the England international.

It’s interesting that Owen would therefore prefer to sign Son over Kane, or one of Tottenham’s younger players like Dejan Kulusevski.
However, when he’s on form, he’s nearly impossible to stop.
His range of finishing and ability to beat defenders is exceptional.
As Tottenham chase another top-four finish, and rivals Arsenal, they need Son to continue hitting the heights he’s capable of.
