Ahead of the Carabao Cup final tomorrow, Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders has heaped praise on Chelsea star Cole Palmer.
The Blues will go into the game as underdogs tomorrow, but that doesn’t mean they can’t win. They have a number of players who can cause Liverpool problems, and Palmer is one of them.

Liverpool’s Pep Lijnders praises Chelsea star Cole Palmer
Chelsea signed Cole Palmer from Manchester City last year for an initial fee of £40 million (The Athletic).
The 21-year-old was always viewed as an incredible talent. Everyone expected him to have a bright future at the Etihad under Pep Guardiola, but he decided to leave last summer.
Chelsea snapped him up, and Palmer has been excellent for the Blues. He has scored 12 goals and provided nine assists in what has been a very impressive debut campaign.
Ahead of the game at Wembley tomorrow, Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders heaped praise on Palmer, calling him one of the signings of the season so far.
He said, as per Liverpool’s official website: “I think one of the best signings this year in the Premier League is [Cole] Palmer; taking him from a rival, a young player, and performing like that.”
Lijnders then praised Conor Gallagher. He said: “Then you have [Conor] Gallagher of course, a proper No.10, from the academy wearing the armband and he is a proper leader. He is somebody who is a 10 but gets his shirt dirty as well.
“If you let them play and let them find the players between the lines, Palmer and Gallagher there, who have a lot of technique, that will be really hard. Enzo dropping. The speed as well they have up front, when they play out of our counter-press, we will need our full toolbox to defend them.”

Palmer will be key for Chelsea vs Liverpool
Cole Palmer has arguably been Chelsea‘s best player this season. He has been outstanding.
The 21-year-old has played on the right wing and as a number 10, and he has impressed in both positions on a consistent basis.
Liverpool will be the favourites to win the game tomorrow, but we’re sure Chelsea will have chances to score at the other end.
Palmer will be at the thick of things, and if he is clinical in front of goal, the Blues could spoil Jurgen Klopp‘s party.
