Efe Ambrose believes Fraser Forster is one of the best goalkeepers in Europe at the moment, The Scottish Sun reports.
Celtic re-signed Forster on loan in the summer after he fell out of favour at Southampton. Forster and Ambrose enjoyed plenty of success together at Parkhead and the goalkeeper is clearly very highly-rated.
Ambrose thinks that his former Bhoys team-mate is among the finest goalkeepers in Europe. Ahead of Celtic’s trip to Rome to take on Lazio, Ambrose has emphasised the importance of Forster.
The Nigerian defender believes Forster can produce another inspired performance as he did against Barcelona. Forster was a brick wall as Celtic shocked the Spanish giants with a 2-1 win at Celtic Park.
Ambrose on Forster

Ambrose said (via The Scottish Sun): “Fraser is incredible, one of the best keepers in Europe. When I saw him make those saves against Lazio, all I could think about was Barcelona.
“In Europe, Fraser has always stepped up and made a big difference to Celtic. He is a great man and a great keeper. I’m so happy he is back at the club. Neil gave him his chance many years ago and he went on to play for England. Now they are back together and Forster will be so important for Celtic in Italy.
“I remember both games against Barcelona in 2012 and Fraser was almost unbeatable. We were playing the best team in the world and they had a lot of attempts at goal, especially at Celtic Park.
“But Fraser showed how good he is that night and he did the same against Lazio. He looks happy at Celtic. He is smiling and enjoying his football again. It’s great to see.”
TBR’s view
Ambrose’s line about Forster being one of the best in Europe might be pushing it slightly. But there is no doubting the towering Englishman’s quality.
Since returning to Celtic, he has shored things up at the back. He is a popular figure among Celtic fans and Neil Lennon has to think about securing his services on a permanent deal.
