In the summer West Ham United decided to make a move for England international midfielder Jack Wilshere. The one-time next superstar of his nation was out of contract at Arsenal and, after years of injury trouble, decided it was time for a fresh start.
West Ham made the move and fans were rightly excited that a fully-fit Wilshere could take West ham to the next level.
As if by clockwork, injury soon struck.
Wilshere picked up another ankle injury in September and he had to undergo surgery on the problem.
The 26-year-old is now back training with the West Ham first-team. A potential return against Manchester City at the weekend is not being ruled out.

Wilshere, who signed a three-year deal at the London Stadium, will now have to hope he remains fit.
Because, as cruel as it is to suggest, another injury setback could easily be his last. West Ham took a punt on the player considering his previous injury trouble. His wages are, according to The Sun, at an extraordinary £100,000-a-week and West Ham will not keep him on the books forever if he cannot remain fit.
Another niggling injury would see West Ham failing to reap the rewards of their investment and a sale would surely not be ruled out.
Hopefully, this is the first and last injury setback for Wilshere at West Ham and he can become a future Hammers star.
