Everton lost 1-0 to Leicester City in the Premier League earlier today, failing to muster much of a fight in an insipid and disappointing display. The result was fair based on the standard of Everton’s play, with Jamie Vardy scoring the winning goal after a mistake from Michael Keane.
Simply put, something is missing for Everton. That something is Romelu Lukaku. The club has failed to replace the Belgian since his £75 million move to Manchester United.
Richarlison is better from the wing, Dominic Calvert-Lewin needs a loan spell and Cenk Tosun has not been up to scratch.

One moment summed up Everton’s lack of a goal scorer more than any other earlier today.
Brazilian attacker Bernard bamboozled Leicester defender Ben Chilwell on the right-hand side before sliding a perfect cross into the six-yard box. Lukaku, or any first-class striker, would have been there to slot the ball home. But, despite having both Tosun and DCL on the pitch at the time, Everton had nobody there to tap home an equaliser.
Until Everton address this massive gaping hole in their team they will never challenge the big boys in the way they are hoping to.
