Ryan Sessegnon has confirmed he has won Hoffenheim’s Player of the Month award on Instagram as he continues to make his mark on loan – and both Michel Vorm and an Arsenal player have responded to the Tottenham star’s post.
Sessegnon, 20, managed just 12 appearances for Tottenham last season following his move from Fulham. Having been ostracised somewhat by Jose Mourinho, the England Under-21 star has opted to go on loan.
Perhaps following in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho and other English stars in the Bundesliga, Sessegnon opted to join Hoffenheim and the move seems to be paying off. He has already played 10 times for the German club.
Being used as a left wing-back, Sessegnon even opened his Bundesliga account against Stuttgart last month – while also creating a goal during a 1-1 draw with Mainz. He posted on Instagram after winning the award.
It remains to be seen whether he has a future at Spurs. Clearly, he needed game time but the north Londoners have signed Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid – while Gareth Bale has been added to a wealth of talent out wide.
Bale could remain at Spurs beyond the end of this season and that may leave Sessegnon left to find a new club. In the mean time, he is impressing out on loan and both Vorm and Arsenal star Reiss Nelson applauded him.
Eric Dier also commented some emojis.
