A number of Leeds United fans have been giving their thoughts on the reports linking the Whites with Luiz Felipe.

Links between the Elland Road side and the Lazio defender emerged on Wednesday, with Il Messaggero claiming the Whites had asked about five of their players.

La Lazio Siamo Noi then reported on Thursday that talks between Leeds and the Italian side over Felipe had “accelerated”.

Andrea Radrizzani’s intermediary, Lorenzo Tonetti, has been in touch with Lazio sporting director Igli Tare, and is ready to submit a €30million (£27million) bid, claims the report.

However, club president Claudio Lotito reportedly wants another €7million to €8million, which would work out as up to around £34million.

In addition, Lazio are reportedly hoping to trigger a bidding war for the 23-year-old.

Felipe has been with the Rome-based outfit since 2016 when he joined from Brazil’s Ituano, and has made 86 competitive appearances for them, including 30 in all competitions last season.

Giuseppe Sannino, Felipe’s former coach at loan club Salernitana, was a huge fan of the Brazilian when working with him.

He previously told Tuttomercatoweb, as translated by The Laziali: “He amazed me with his personality and his flexibility in different roles…. he has pace, technique, strength, and personality.”

Versatility is key to Marcelo Bielsa’s style of football, and with Ben White seemingly set to sign a long-term deal at Brighton, it looks as though Felipe could be a great alternative.

But what have Leeds fans made of the speculation? Below is some of the social media reaction:
