'Omg', 'this is a dream': Some Spurs fans react as club is reportedly in talks with 'top' player

Some Spurs fans are in dreamland after hearing that the north Londoners are reportedly talking to Marcus Thuram.

Tottenham are looking to rebuild following a dismal 2020-21 season.

Spurs’ trophy drought continues, and they failed to make either the Champions League or Europa League.

In addition, Tottenham are still looking for a new manager after sacking Jose Mourinho in April.

However, Wednesday night brought about some exciting reports for Spurs fans.

The north Londoners are reportedly closing in on Paulo Fonseca, formerly of Roma, Porto and Shakhtar Donetsk.

And on the player front, Tottenham are apparently chasing Thuram, one of the most exciting young attackers in European football.

RMC Sport claimed that Spurs have “accelerated negotiations” for the Borussia Monchengladbach and France winger.

The Premier League club has apparently made Thuram’s signing a “priority” and discussions have been advancing well.

Who is Marcus Thuram?

The 23-year-old is the son of France legend and 1998 World Cup winner Lilian Thuram.

He has carved out an impressive career of his own and looks set for a bright future.

Thuram started his career at Sochaux and earned himself a move to Gladbach in 2019.

He has made 79 appearances for the German club, with 25 goals and 21 assists under his belt.

Thuram’s efforts have helped him make the France squad for Euro 2020.

“Phenomenal”

Dennis Zakaria praised Thuram in 2019 after he scored a late winner against Roma in the Europa League 18 months ago.

“It was so important that Marcus scored that goal today,” said Zakaria, via Bulinews.

“He is a great guy, a little crazy maybe, but what he brings to the pitch is phenomenal.”

Spurs fan reaction

Here is what some Spurs fans have been saying about links with Thuram.
