Olly Casey has posted on Instagram after the Leeds United youngster put pen to paper on a new three-year contract with the Elland Road club – and plenty of teammates have responded, including Kalvin Phillips.
Casey, 19, has enjoyed an excellent season at Leeds this term – clocking up 22 appearances for the club’s Uncer-23 side in the Professional Development North League, and the Premier League Cup.
But more importantly, he made his debut for the Whites under Marcelo Bielsa during the final stages of a 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town. He has been on the bench for 10 other league games, and the FA Cup loss to Arsenal.
On the fringes of the senior side, Casey has penned a new deal that will see him remain at the club until the summer of 2023. He underlined his delight on Instagram, and predicted that “exciting times” were to come.
Meanwhile, Leeds are in action on Thursday night as they could secure Premier League promotion with a win over Barnsley – if Brentford fail to beat Preston on Wednesday. Kalvin Phillips has been ruled out until the summer.
Phillips responded by commenting “Go on big man, love it”, while plenty of other Leeds players also commented – including Pascal Struijk, Stuart McKinstry and Jamie Shackleton as well as former Leeds man Jack Clarke.
