Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham is wanted by French side Nice, according to reports.
Le10 Sport is reporting on the French side’s apparent desire to revamp their team next season. Centre-midfield is one area they are desperate to improve and the likes of Baptiste Santamaria, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Gustavo Assuncao, and Ibrahima Diallo are all on their radar.
But the report also claims that Nice boss Patrick Vieira is keeping tabs on Ntcham, who he knows from his time at Manchester City.
Ntcham joined City from Le Havre in 2012 at a time when Vieira was working with the City development team.
Now, it appears that Vieira would like to reunite with the 24-year-old.
Last summer it appeared that Ntcham might be on his way out of Celtic with a move to Porto repeatedly mooted. However, as reported by the Daily Star, Celtic’s £15 million valuation proved too much for any interested party.
Plenty of Celtic fans would have been understanding if Ntcham was sold last season, after an indifferent and occasionally disinterested appearing 2018-19.
However, the Frenchman has been in fine form this season, especially in the Europa League, and was linked with Lille in March (LQDF) whilst West Ham (Foot Mercato) and Southampton (The Sun) have also been linked with the player.
Whilst Celtic will not want to sell Ntcham, Nice would be a formidable opposition considering Ntcham’s links with Vieira and their current wealth due to the ownership of one of Britain’s richest men, Jim Ratcliffe.
It appears the Bhoys may have a transfer fight on their hands regarding their French midfield dynamo.
