Oliver Glasner sends stern Eberechi Eze warning to Crystal Palace amid £68m Arsenal pursuit

It has not been an easy summer for Oliver Glasner at Crystal Palace.

The Austrian has seen just two new signings arrive in the form of Walter Benitez and Borna Sosa – who replace Matt Turner and Ben Chilwell in the squad after their loans expired.

A lack of incomings has presumably been caused by the legal battle between Crystal Palace and UEFA regarding the Europa League with £30m in revenue on the line – while discussing personal terms with targets must be tough when you are unsure which European competition you can offer them.

Oliver Glasner has now addressed the lack of signings during an interview with Kronen Zeitung – where the Crystal Palace boss also inadvertently sent a message about Eberechi Eze amid interest from Arsenal.

Oliver Glasner sends warning to Steve Parish

It took the south Londoners nine Premier League games to earn a win last season, as several key players arrived back late due to major international tournaments, and also due to a lack of early transfer business.

Glasner has now warned Steve Parish that a similarly poor start could occur, and that he wants nobody to be sold, saying: “Even though all the players are still here, we haven’t made the most of the transfer window so far. I was promised that we would be more active and bring in the new players earlier this year.

“As of now, I have 17 outfield players! I hope we don’t lose any more. If that happens and we get four new ones on deadline day like last year, another false start is possible.”

Glasner is yet to sign a new contract – with his current terms expiring in 11 months – so it is imperative that Parish keeps the man from Salzburg happy.

It could now be much harder for Arsenal to sign Eberechi Eze

TBR Football have been told that Eze thinks a move to Arsenal will happen this summer, with the Gunners keen on signing the England international – who has a £68m release clause.

However, Glasner quite clearly tells Parish during his chat with Kronen Zeitung that he hopes nobody leaves.

Therefore, Arsenal signing Eze would not only leave a gaping hole in the attack at Crystal Palace, but it could also quite easily annoy Glasner enough for the 50-year-old to turn down a new contract, meaning the Gunners will have to submit a truly irresistible offer to get this deal done for several reasons.
