This summer Rangers were heavily linked with a move for Swansea City striker Oliver McBurnie. The self-confessed Rangers fanatic was linked with a move to Ibrox when it appeared he had no future at the Liberty Stadium. Considering his love for the Gers, a move to Glasgow was looking like a genuine possibility.
In the end, Mcburnie stayed. The Scotland international was given assurances about first-team football by new manager Graham Potter and signed a new deal to stay in South Wales, much to the disappointment of Rangers fans.

Now, not bringing him to Ibrox is looking like an increasingly disappointing missed opportunity.
McBurnie was excellent for the Welsh side on the opening day of the Championship season. He scored a goal and had opponents Sheffield United chasing shadows for much of the game. His first touch and some of his approach play, in particular, caught the eye.
Rangers could certainly have done with the hard-working but more docile McBurnie up front against Aberdeen yesterday. Steven Gerrard’s first league game in charge ended in an admirable draw, considering striker Alfredo Morelos got himself sent off early.
Rangers fans would probably much rather one of their own running the show up top at Ibrox, instead of the increasingly divisive Colombian forward.
