Jamie Bowden notched an assist in just his second appearance for Oldham Athletic on Tuesday night – after joining the club on loan from Tottenham. In a Carabao Cup clash against Tranmere, Bowden’s Oldham came from 2-0 down to win on penalties – and Oldham fans have praised the Spurs talent.
Only last week, 20-year-old Bowden secured a loan move to Oldham. It is his first move away from Spurs – having previously clocked up as much as 37 appearances for the Under-23 side. A central midfielder, he is known for getting forward and both scoring and creating goals. He posted on Twitter.

Bowden, an Ireland Under-19 international made his debut for Oldham on Saturday during a 1-0 defeat to Newport County. He started again on Tuesday and lasted the entire 90 minutes – providing the assist for Oldham’s first goal. 2-0 down, it was Bowden’s quick thinking that got a goal back.
Taking a quick, short corner before the Tranmere defence had organised – Bowden passed it to Dylan Bahamboula who scored after a mazy run. An own goal then saw the match go to penalties after 90 minutes, and Oldham won 4-3. Fans of the League Two side applauded Tottenham rookie Bowden.
