“Oh please”: Liverpool fans excited by links to Serie A forward

Liverpool are being linked with Inter Milan attacker Lautaro Martinez – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter are buzzing with the transfer speculation.

Football publication 90min reports that Liverpool have contacted Italian giants Inter about the 23-year-old, with rivals Chelsea and Manchester City doing the same.

It is explained that the English clubs want to be informed about the centre-forward’s future, as there is a chance Serie A title winners Inter may be forced to sell one of their prized assets this summer due to financial problems.

The report states that the Argentina international could cost less than £70million if he’s to leave at the end of the season.

Martinez, who earns £81,000-a-week (Salary Sport), has been a mainstay in an Inter team that have won the league crown.

The striker has 18 goals in all competitions so far this season, and is a rising talent that already has some good experience under his belt at such a young age.

He’s been an important player this campaign for Antonio Conte’s Inter, which is why some of England’s top clubs are now looking at him as a possibility.

A selection of Liverpool supporters on social media believe Martinez may be a great target for them.

The Merseyside giants have in recent years had one of Europe’s most recognisable front threes in the shape of dynamic trio Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

However, Diogo Jota has added some much-needed competition at Anfield to the forward lne, something which Martinez could definitely do to try keep it fresh at Liverpool.
