A number of Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to lament the latest injury update coming from Staplewood ahead of the Premier League clash with Aston Villa at St Mary’s Stadium this weekend.
Dean Smith’s charges, currently 17th in the Premier League table, head to the South Coast hoping to drag the Saints back towards trouble, whilst pulling themselves further away from the bottom three.
At present, Southampton sit 12th in the table, but they have lost their last two league games and just six points separate them from Aston Villa, who in turn are a point above the relegation zone.
With the stakes high, Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl had to deliver bad news to the Saints faithful in the shape of three key players all being out of action for the game, as per the official club website.

Attacker Nathan Redmond is out for “minimum a month”, while winger Sofiane Boufal, who came off injured during the first half of last week’s loss to Burnley, is likely to be back next week after recovering from a heel problem.
Tottenham Hotspur loanee Kyle Walker-Peters has also been ruled out for the game against Villa with a calf injury that, whilst not particularly bad, meant he couldn’t train this week.
