Liverpool fans are already fearing the worst after Curtis Jones was ruled out of their opening day game against Norwich City.
Jones missing
The Athletic reported last night that the Liverpool youngster won’t be fit enough to feature for Jurgen Klopp’s side, after picking up an injury against Osasuna in his final pre-season appearance.
Jones now joins Andy Robertson in being sidelined for Liverpool’s first game – with Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara also not fit enough to start.
And Liverpool fans are concerned that they are suffering injury problems already.
History repeating itself?
Liverpool, of course, suffered terribly with injury last term – so their fans anxiety is hardly surprising.
Jones would have had a strong chance of starting for Liverpool in the contest if he had been fit too.
The teenager is expected to play a prominent role at Anfield this season, following the departure of Georginio Wijnaldum.
His absence means that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain or Harvey Elliott could be in line to feature on Saturday evening.
