Manchester City target Danny Ings has reportedly rejected a new contract offer from Southampton.
According to the Athletic, the 28-year-old striker has turned down an offer from the Saints. Moreover, as per the report, Ings would become Southampton’s highest-ever paid player had he agreed to the new terms.

Ings was under consideration from City, as well as Manchester United and Tottenham, as a potential signing this summer as reported by the Athletic.
Since 2019, the Southampton star has scored more goals than Sergio Aguero, who left City for FC Barcelona this summer. And at 28, Ings is reaching the prime of his career.
Despite some impressive numbers for the Saints over the past two years, plenty of City fans are not keen on the club signing Ings this summer.

Indeed, the Premier League champions are set to sign a striker to replace the departing Aguero, with a plethora of names being linked with City over the previous weeks.
Yet Ings is not a popular option amongst City fans.
Here’s what some supporters had to say on Twitter about the latest on the Saints attacker’s future…
