A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to bemoan the news that Toffees goalkeeper Jordan Pickford will be out for the next few weeks.
The 27-year-old was forced off before half-time during Saturday’s Premier League game with Burnley after hurting his oblique abdominal muscle.
Pickford, who was replaced by Joao Virginia in between the sticks, underwent a scan on Monday to determine the full extent of the problem.

On Tuesday, the Toffees confirmed that Pickford will not be fit to feature in England’s World Cup qualifiers later this month.
The Three Lions take on San Marino on March 25, Albania three days later and Poland on March 31.
More worryingly for Everton fans, Pickford has been ruled out of Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final tie with Manchester City.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Robin Olsen has not yet given up hope of being fit for the game at Goodison.
If neither Pickford nor Olsen are fit, then Virginia will almost certainly be in between the sticks for the meeting with Pep Guardiola’s side.
This has left some Evertonians feeling worried – here’s some of the reaction on social media:
