Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Telegraph revealed that Harry Kane is set to miss the opening game of the 2021/22 season.
What’s the story?
Well, coincidentally, Tottenham will be facing Manchester City in the opening game of the new Premier League season.
However, the fact Pep Guardiola wants Kane at the Etihad Stadium has nothing to do with his absence from the clash in N17.
Instead, The Telegraph believe his efforts at EURO 2020 will keep him out of Nuno Espírito Santo’s first competitive game in charge.
Kane is currently on holiday with his family in the Caribbean.
Once he returns to England, the 27-year-old is expected to be working on his fitness by the time the Premier League season starts.
Judging by the responses below, the Tottenham fans aren’t happy about this.
However, EURO 2020 ended on July 11th. After a gruelling campaign for Kane – who has ankle issues – he absolutely needs a proper rest.
What’s the latest transfer talk?

The freshest news regarding Kane’s future comes from The Sun.
If you choose to believe it, their report claims that Tottenham’s No.10 will join the Citizens in a deal worth £160m.
It also states that Manchester City will pay Kane an incredible £400,000-a-week.

Only time will tell if this report comes true.
For now, let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about The Telegraph‘s update…
