‘Oh my days’, ‘I could cry’: Some Arsenal fans fume as Premier League rivals sign January target
Brighton and Hove Albion have confirmed the signing of reported Arsenal target Enwock Mwepu.
The Seagulls confirmed on their official website that they have agreed to a four-year deal for the RB Salzburg star. The fee for the transfer is undisclosed.
Moreover, Arsenal were reportedly interested in the midfielder in the January transfer window. According to the Gooner, the club saw the Zambian international as a potential signing for this summer.
However, Brighton have now pipped the Gunners to Mwepu. As reported by Sky Sports News, though, Arsenal are close to signing R.S.C. Anderlecht star Albert Sambi Lokonga.
Indeed, Brighton supporters on social media were buzzing with the announcement, with Mwepu one of the highest-rated midfielders outside of Europe’s top-five leagues.
However, for Arsenal fans, some were fuming that the Gunners were unable to beat the south coast club to the signing of Mwepu.
Here’s what some supporters had to say on Twitter about Brighton confirming the signing of Mwepu…
