'Oh hello', 'Absolutely love this': Some fans react to hearing they want 'unreal' Arsenal player in January
A number of Middlesbrough fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports linking Chris Wilder’s men with a loan move for Arsenal starlet Folarin Balogun.
Balogun could well be on the move in January. The 20-year-old has not featured in the Premier League since the second weekend of the campaign.
He has already proved that he is absolutely devastating at under-23 level. In fact, he has 10 goals in just eight Premier League 2 games this term.
The Sun reports that Wilder has made the striker his top target ahead of the winter window. It is noted that he wanted him at Sheffield United. And the Blades are apparently still in the running for the England under-21 international.
And it certainly appears that many of the Boro fans would love to see him move to the Riverside Stadium ahead of the second-half of the campaign.
Only one side above Boro in the Championship table have scored fewer goals so far this term. Their top goalscorers meanwhile, have three strikes each.
Several of their supporters have claimed that Balogun would simply be too good for the Championship. And thus, they feel that it would be a huge coup to land him in the coming months.
‘Really like the sound of this’: Middlesbrough fans react to links with Arsenal starlet Balogun
Balogun, for his part, should surely welcome the chance to leave on loan. Playing regularly will surely present him with the best chance to send a message to Mikel Arteta given that he has little left to prove at under-23 level.
Perhaps he would ideally like to be playing at a higher level. But he will surely have few complaints about such a move.
With that in mind, here is what some of the Middlesbrough fans make of the links with Arsenal starlet Balogun…
Last time we loaned a young English striker from a London club it turned out quite well… I’m all for it, just depends if he’s willing to leave London I suppose. He’ll definitely get more game time with us than the hammers.

Why would Arsenal send him to a direct premier league rival? Much more in their interests to loan him to Wilders mighty Boro https://t.co/5BtvYCXrMO

Really like the sound of this, his goal scoring record at academy level is unreal. Hearing he’s very highly rated from arsenal fans too. Will also provide good competition with Sporar, Ikpeazu and Coburn https://t.co/j75PdOn4JU
