Timo Werner hasn’t had the greatest of starts to life at Tottenham.
The German has just one goal to his name since joining Spurs, and while that isn’t the greatest of returns, there have been some bright spots it must be said.
Indeed, Werner’s pace has caused plenty of problems for a number of teams, and according to Fabrizio Romano, speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Tottenham are very happy with the striker.
Romano says that Spurs aren’t just happy with Werner on the pitch, they’re really happy with how he’s been gelling with the squad behind the scenes too.

Tottenham are happy with Timo Werner
Romano shared what he knows about the £15m man.
“Not yet, there’s no final decision made yet but they’re very happy with Timo Werner, not just on the pitch, also off the pitch, how he has started making a connection with the rest of the squad. Tottenham are quite happy with Timo Werner and the plan of the player is not to stay at Leipzig in the long-term,” Romano said.
Positive
Werner may not be impressing all that much in terms of his performances on the pitch, but it does sound as though he’s having a really positive impact behind the scenes.
Werner may take some time to settle back into English football, but the fact that he’s already forming meaningful and positive bonds with his teammates bodes well for the striker.
Confidence and happiness are two vital parts of being a successful footballer, and it sounds as though Werner is really working towards striking the right balance at Tottenham.
Don’t be shocked if Spurs do turn his loan deal into a permanent move come the end of the season as they hold the £15m option to buy the German this summer.
