'Of course I like him': Gennaro Gattuso a big fan of 'incredible' £26m star Arsenal reportedly want

Arsenal have been linked with Arthur Melo in recent months.

In July, journalist Rudy Galetti claimed on Twitter that the Gunners were looking to make a bid for the Juventus man.

And two weeks ago, Mundo Deportivo reported that Arsenal were the club most interested in Arthur.

Though the Gunners have brought in two new midfielders this summer, they remain linked with a third.

Arsenal bought Oleksandr Zinchenko and Fabio Vieira to the Emirates in the past few weeks.

But as well as Arthur, the Gunners are still being linked with Leicester’s Youri Tielemans.

Could Arsenal make a move for either player ahead of the transfer window closing?

One thing’s for sure – Valencia, another club that rates Arthur highly, won’t be making a move for the Brazilian.

Manager Gennaro Gattuso told Gazzetta dello Sport – as transcribed by Fabrizio Romano – that he likes Arthur.

However, the 2006 World Cup winner also admitted his club couldn’t afford him.

Juve reportedly value Arthur at around £25m-26m.

Though he seems surplus to requirements at the Turin club, he’s a very talented player who could do with a change of scenery.

Messi compared the Brazilian to Xavi, Andres Iniesta called him “exceptional”, and Thomas Vermaelen said he’s “incredible”.

He’d tick quite a few boxes for Arsenal, and he shouldn’t be out of reach in terms of personal terms and agreeing a fee with Juve.
