In the past few days, we have seen both sides of Orjan Nyland at Aston Villa.
Nyland has come in for a lot of criticism this season and at times, his errors have been costly.
In midweek, he shipped five goals as Aston Villa managed a 5-5 home draw against Nottingham Forest.
The Norway international could have done better with some of Nottingham Forest’s goals, especially a speculative long-range effort from Joe Lolley, and that ultimately cost the Villans some points.
It is not the first time his mistakes have held Aston Villa back and fans were starting to lose patience with him.
But against Middlesbrough, he showed that does have the ability to star between the sticks for Aston Villa.

One save in particular caught the eye as he managed to push Jordan Hugill’s strike onto the crossbar.
But it is the 28-year-old’s lack of consistency which will be frustrated for Aston Villa fans and manager Dean Smith.
Nyland makes some impressive saves and has games where he looks in complete control.
But he follows that up with an error-riddled performance, making wrong decisions and struggling to keep out tame shots.
If he is to succeed at Villa Park, Nyland needs to add consistency to his game; he must prove to Smith that he can be a reliable number one.
