Arsenal produced a performance worthy of table toppers as they hammered Nottingham Forest at The Emirates today.
A 5-0 win was more than deserved as a brilliant second half display from the Gunners saw them romp home. The only blot on the paper was an injury to Bukayo Saka. It remains to be seen if Saka will miss any more games, or whether it is just a knock.

Of course, the positives were there for all to see. One of which was the performance of forgotten man, Reiss Nelson.
Nelson replaced Saka in the first-half and boy, did he reward Arteta’s faith. Nelson bagged himself two goals and an assist to show that he still very much means business for Arsenal. And watching on from afar was Nuno Tavares, who took to Twitter to show his encouragement to the Arsenal midfielder.
Nelson has spent the majority of his time in the last few seasons away on loan. However, Mikel Arteta has been impressed with Nelson’s performances in training lately, and clearly fancied giving him his chance today.
The 22-year-old will now be hoping to kick on. And while Nelson won’t wish injury on Saka, there’ll be part of him that hopes a door might have just opened for him right now.
The tweet from Nuno Tavares to Reiss Nelson here is a nice touch, and a show of solidarity from the Gunners’ loan players of recent times.
TBR’s View: Reiss Nelson like a new signing for Arsenal v Forest
A superb performance this from Nelson. He’s gone from forgotten man to someone pushing for a start in the space of around 70 minutes.
It really couldn’t have gone any better for him. Nelson showed calmness and quality with his goals but his all-around game was that of a man who has improved so much.
Maybe, just like Arsenal did with William Saliba, the loan moves were the right call. They key for Nelson now will be getting more opportunities and then, making the most of them.
