Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is set to hand new Gunners signing, Nuno Tavares, his debut against Glasgow Rangers this weekend.
The young left-back has finally cleared covid-19 protocols and isolation and has been pictured in training with the Gunners as they prepare to face Steven Gerrard’s side on Saturday.

Taveres, 22, is seen as someone who can excite the Arsenal faithful, and Gunners fans will be desperate to see him in action. And according to Football.London, the wait might be over, come Saturday.
FL report that Tavares seemed in ‘excellent spirits’ in training as he prepares for his potential debut. It’s a debut that is likely, too, with Mikel Arteta admitting it was simply down to paperwork why he didn’t feature against Hibs.
Exciting
Pre-season is all about getting your eyes on the new signings and while Arsenal fans might have hoped for more by now, they’ll be keen to see Tavares in action.
A high-profile game with Rangers is a good test as well. It will certainly be one where Tavares will need to turn up. After all, this is the Scottish champions we’re talking about.
Point to prove
Ultimately, this game and the next few weeks are Taveres’ chance to show Arteta he deserves a place in the first XI.
He hasn’t signed to simply warm the bench. And while there might be some patience needed, a big performance on Saturday would do him the world of good.
Taveres, then, will no doubt be going all out when the whistle goes at Ibrox.
