Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo has waxed lyrical about Cristian Romero ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League meeting with Manchester United.
The 23-year-old joined Tottenham in the summer from Atalanta, having won the Serie A Player of the Season award last term.
Romero then won Copa America with Argentina and established himself as one of the first names on the team sheet under Lionel Scaloni.

The centre-back has been superb for Spurs this season, clocking up 10 appearances so far and helping the team reach the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.
On Wednesday, Spurs were up against Burnley, one of the most physical sides in the Premier League, but Romero seemed to enjoy the battle.
He flew into tackles and blocks, made numerous clearances, won five aerial duels, and made plenty of accurate passes.
Ahead of the Red Devils clash, football.london asked Nuno what he had made of Romero’s first few months in England.

“I think he’s improving,” he replied.
“Two cases, clearly of players, who are stepping up with games and improving in a very good way are Emerson and Cuti Romero.
“Premier League is very demanding. They felt the impact of the competition at the beginning, now they’re settling down.
“That’s what we need: players who arrive and as soon as they get the right adaptation, the talent is there. It will be good for us.”
