Nuno Espirito Santo has said Tottenham Hotspur player Tanguy Ndombele was not injured after his absence for the club’s win over Arsenal.

What’s the story?

Spurs beat bitter rivals Arsenal 1-0 in a hard-fought pre-season friendly. However, the Frenchman was nowhere to be seen.

His partner gave birth to their child just under three weeks ago. As a result, Ndombele has yet to feature for the club during any game this summer.

Speaking about the central midfielder in his post-match press conference, Nuno said he won’t be ‘part of the game’ just yet.

It’s an interesting message from the Portuguese coach regarding the club’s record signing. Just over two years ago, the ace joined the club from Lyon for £53.8m.

However, his time in N17 has been littered with inconsistencies, with the ‘magnificent player floating in and out of the team.

Letting Ndombele leave Tottenham would be bad

Letting Ndombele leave Tottenham would be bad amid the comments from Nuno.

Despite his inconsistencies since moving to north London, the ace has a bright future.

Remember all the promise the former bustling midfielder arrived with?

In 2019, Ndombele was one of the most sought after players during the summer window.

His ability on and off the ball made him an attractive prospect for some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Spurs managed to land him, but circumstances have seen him struggle to live up to the billing.

However, his inconsistencies aren’t all his own fault. Tottenham have been on a downward spiral since reaching the Champions League final in 2019.

From hiring Jose Mourinho as their manager to their activity in the transfer market, the club has been a shambles.

Letting a talented 24-year-old leave the club would only increase the club’s problems.

Meanwhile, the club has asked one player to respect his contract.
