Nuno Espirito Santo says he hopes Morgan Gibbs-White will be back soon for Wolverhampton Wanderers, but his words won’t fill fans wanting his imminent return with hope.
The 19-year-old has been absent since October 24 when the club played Slovan Bratislava in the Europa League.
Gibbs-White has been struggling with a back problem, which has caused him to miss the last nine games.
Wolves Bite quote the manager as saying: “He has a problem with his lower back and he’s still struggling with this.
“It’s very painful but he’s in the gym. First we have to take care of his pain, then we will be able to recover his shape. I hope he’s back soon.”
Wolves will hope for a swift recovery as the fixtures come thick and fast over the festive period.
TBR’s view – Gibbs-White faces struggle
In the time that Gibbs-White has been sidelined, Wolves have been getting better and better.
The club are now on a seven-match unbeaten run in all competitions and haven’t lost in the Premier League since September 14 against Chelsea, and the youngster is going to have it tough getting back into the side over the likes of Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves.
When a winning formula is in place, it would be foolish of a manager to disrupt that and so patience will be key for the U17 World Cup winner.
